About civil Program

Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as residences, institutional buildings, roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, and railways. Civil engineers do engineering work specific to building and improving community infrastructures. They plan, design, and monitor new building construction and improvements, rail and roadway projects, bridges, irrigation and sewer systems, dams, and other physical structures. Civil engineers design, build and maintain the foundation for our modern society – our roads and bridges, drinking water and energy systems, seaports and airports, and the infrastructure for a cleaner environment, to name just a few. ... Drive to work on roads and bridges through synchronized traffic lights. The main and foremost reason to study civil engineering should be your INTEREST in the field. Civil engineering deals with design construction and maintenance of buildings, bridges, dams, roads, canals, etc. It has a very good scope nowadays. I was fascinated by the idea of designing/building high rise towers and bridges

Coastal Engineering:

Coastal engineering is concerned with managing coastal areas. In some jurisdictions, the terms sea defense and coastal protection mean defense against flooding and erosion, respectively.

Earthquake Engineering:

Earthquake engineering involves designing structures to withstand hazardous earthquake exposures. Earthquake engineering is a sub-discipline of structural engineering.

Environmental Engineering:

Environmental engineering is the contemporary term for sanitary engineering, though sanitary engineering traditionally had not included much of the hazardous waste management and environmental remediation work covered by environmental engineering. Public health engineering and environmental health engineering are other terms being used.
